JTED Collecting Items to Help Firefighters Battling Sawmill Blaze

The Sawmill Fire is burning just South of Tucson and winds have quickly helped it spread fast. Yesterday, the fire doubled in size, reaching over 40,000 acres with 20 percent containment.  Over 600 Wildland firefighters are working 24-hour shifts.

Every fire agency that supports our JTED fire program has firefighters deployed at this fire and they need our help. Here is a list of items we as the JTED community can gather to help provide for our fire community:

  • Foot powder
  • Cotton/wool socks
  • Moleskin
  • Bug repellent
  • Chap stick
  • Bandanas
  • Sunscreen
  • Small personal first aid kits
  • Baby wipes
  • Dental floss
  • Toothpaste
  • Lotion
  • Pen and notepad
  • Trail mix/snacks
  • Candy (no chocolate)
  • Gum

Please drop items off to our JTED Fire Program at either our JTED @ Master Pieces Campus (2855 W. Master Pieces Drive) or our JTED @ Camino Seco Campus (8727 E. 22nd Street).
