- Explore a wide range of healthcare careers, the roles and responsibilities of a healthcare team, and the importance and function of community healthcare
- Develop the professional skills and terminology required by healthcare experts through practical lab experiences including taking and charting patient vital signs, learning body mechanics, sterilization and disease prevention
- Examine how ethics, morals, cultural and personal values are upheld in medical professions
- Complete this prerequisite to enter Medical Assisting, Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant and Emergency Medical Technician programs
This is the prerequisite for all Healthcare Pathway programs.

No high school diploma or GED before program completion
JTED @ Camino Seco: M/W or T/TH 5-7:30 p.m., T/TH 2:15-4:45 p.m., Open Lab: F 12-5 p.m.
JTED @ Master Pieces: M/W or T/TH 2:15-4:45 p.m., or 5-7:30 p.m., Open Lab: F 12-5 p.m.
JTED @ Empire: M-F, Periods 5 & 6
JTED Online + class 2nd and 4th T/month 4:30-7:30 p.m. (Location TBD)
Fees: None. Required uniforms and additional supplies are the student’s responsibility.
