All Campuses Closed, Online Instruction Through the End of the Year

Dear Pima JTED students, parents and guardians:

Governor Doug Ducey and State Superintendent of Instruction Kathy Hoffman announced this week that all of Arizona’s schools will remain closed until the end of the school year to help protect students, families, and school communities during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Please contact your instructor for directions to access online course content. If you are unable to email your teacher, use the Contact Us form on our website.

  • Since Governor Ducey and State Superintendent of Instruction Kathy Hoffman extended school closures until the end of the school year, Pima JTED will implement remote educational experiences for our students to the best of our ability.
  • All Pima JTED in-person classes, and all in-person gatherings, tutoring, and trainings, regardless of day or location will cease during this period.
  • For our Pima JTED students who attend JTED classes at Pima Community College, please note that Pima Community Colleges will also not be holding any in-person classes and that their campuses are closed until further notice. These students are also encouraged to check their MyPima portal email for updates directly from PCC.

Safety & Prevention:

  • The health and well-being of our students and staff are our top priority.  According to the health professionals at the CDC, and our local Pima County Health Department, good hygiene such as frequent hand washing for at least 20 seconds, and social distancing, and staying home are effective measures to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Please visit PimaJTED.org/covid19/ for regular updates and resources for students, parents/guardians and staff.

I am so proud of how our Pima JTED team has responded to these current challenges!  These are unprecedented times, and we will get through this by working together, communicating openly & electronically, and most importantly, by taking care of ourselves and each other.

Sincerely,
Kathy Prather
Superintendent
