AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium Director

Reports To: Pima JTED
Term Of Employment: Full time, 12 Months, plus benefits provided through Pima JTED (Including ASRS), with travel stipend and holidays TBD.
Salary Range: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00
FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Arizona CTE Curriculum Consortium Director’s primary responsibility is to support the consortium’s mission of preparing students for career success by delivering consistent high-quality instruction.

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid, current CTE Arizona teaching certificate
  • Teaching experience (CTE or teaching Adult Learners Preferred)
  • Effective in communication, planning, organization, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with and motivate others
  • Educational leadership in the profession through membership and participation in Career and Technical Education organizations
  • Ability to plan and present information/training for the adult learner; design and deliver workshops and programs
  • Able to work independently and under stressful timelines and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of effective instructional strategies, effective lesson planning and research-based best practices
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of a variety of assessment methods
  • Models direct, explicit, systematic instruction including effective teaching techniques and strategies
  • Increases and enhances own professional knowledge, skills, and expertise about effective instruction
  • Exhibits professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor
  • Ability to work with diverse groups
  • Forward-looking in educational views
  • Excellent computer skills (Google, Microsoft Office)
  • Familiar with basic coding concepts
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects at the same time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium Director’s duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides strong instructional leadership for the creation, management and implementation of the Arizona CTE Curriculum Consortium (Consortium)
  • Coordinates Consortium committees to review and revise current lesson plans and curriculum
  • Coordinates Consortium committees to create new lesson plans and curriculum to meet the needs of the participating Consortium school districts
  • Supports Consortium’s direction of expanding consistent high quality instruction
  • Coordinates Consortium professional development for stakeholders
  • Facilitates Consortium steering committee meeting and communicates with steering committee members
  • Oversees the management of the Consortium Wiki
  • Submits quarterly status reports to Consortium members
  • Promotes membership to non-Consortium districts, CTEDs and schools
  • Works with Pima JTED Chief Financial Officer to maintain financial records
  • Work with Pima JTED staff to ensure Pima JTED policies are followed
  • Pursues grant and alternative funding proposals to support Consortium
  • Ability to establish and maintain exemplary professional relationships as identified, but not limited to CTE directors, CTED superintendents, teachers, ADE staff
  • Works with Arizona Department of Education CTE leadership on aligning the Consortium with CTE state assessments
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement supporting the Consortium mission and strategic plan
  • Communicate appropriately with all Consortium Designees
  • Maintain and update social media accounts
  • Supervise the Consortium writing team and staff
  • Substantial statewide travel required
  • Ability and willingness to work outside the traditional working hours and calendar of teachers, including evenings, weekends, and summers
  • Director evaluated by Consortium steering committee and will report to Pima County JTED

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a fingerprint background check
  • MMR immunization, negative TB test (within the last year)
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
