Courses for Standard CTE Certification

Dear CTE Professionals,

We are honored to be able to provide Premier Series Professional Development courses to help you reach your CTE Certification needs as well as your own professional growth goals.

This catalog lists a wide variety of courses – all approved by the CTE Division of the Arizona Department of Education and recognized by the certification office as meeting the requirement for Professional Knowledge coursework.  Each course is the equivalent of one semester hour of college credit, therefore the course must be 15 clock hours in length.  This means each course is either two days long @ 7.5 hours per day OR one day long with a homework assignment instead of a second day.

The courses are free of charge to teachers within the boundaries of Pima JTED.  There is a nominal charge for teachers from outside of the boundaries of Pima JTED.  We are excited to have teachers from across the State of Arizona join our local teachers in these professional development activities.

Toward the back of the catalog are workshops.  Workshops are not ADE approved professional development but are high quality activities that are generally only an hour or two in length.

We have adapted to our current reality (Coronavirus) by offering all of our courses via Zoom.  We are so pleased with the feedback we have received and have made every effort to make these course practical, interactive, and engaging.  All courses are live – not recorded.  Therefore, you must be available for the entire duration of the course in order to receive credit.

We are committed to providing the courses you value and so if you have ideas as to content / topics we should add, please let us know.  We want to be able to meet the needs of all CTE teachers!

I look forward to seeing you in the near future,

Curt Bertelsen
Director of Professional Development for Pima JTED
