DearPimaCountyResidentOneofmyfavoritesongsfromtheBroadwayshowRenthasthelinex1c525600minuteshowdoyoumeasuremeasureayearx1dWeplayedthatsonginMayasmorethan250JTEDstudentsfromhighschoolsacrossPimaCountyFledintotheTucsonConventionCenterMusicHallforourannualCentralProgramCompletionceremony.HowdoyoumeasureayearInclassesinnewbuildingsindollarsspentinbudgetbattlesinanAnnualReportorinstudentsleavingforcollegeoracareerIn2009wehad250studentsenrolledinthreecentralcampusprogramsandhonoredmorethan100seniors.Thisyearweservedmorethan700studentswith12centralcampusprogramsAgriscienceAutomotiveAviationConstructionCosmetologyEarlyChildhoodEducationElectricalTransmissionFireScienceLawPublicSafetyNursingServicesWebDesignandWelding.IwasgratefulthatthefamilymembersandfriendswhoFlledtheMusicHallcouldhearfromtheinstructorshowtherigorouscurriculumofeachprogramchallengedtheirstudentandhowtheirstudentspenthundredsofhoursaboveandbeyondtheircorehighschoolclasses-or1600hoursinthecaseofourcosmetologystudents-togaintheskillsnecessarytoenteraskilledprofession.EvenIwasstruckbythetremendousdedicationandeffortourstudentsputforth.ThesestudentsdeservedthehonorThisfallwestartedprovidingnewopportunitiesandstartedservingmorestudentsasweopenedJTEDFlowingWellsGraphicArtsJTEDEmpireAlliedHealthandNursingServicesJTEDIndianOasisBaboquivariAutomotiveTechnologiesandJTEDUPHKinoProjectSEARCHforstudentswithdisabilities.WealsoopenedJTEDCaminoSecotomirrorourJTEDMasterPiecescampusofferingCertiFedNursingAssistantCosmetologyLawPublicSafetySecurityandFireServicesprogramstostudentslivingontheEastandSouthsidesofTucson.CombinedourCentralandSatelliteProgramswhicharelocatedinallpublichighschoolsareservingapproximately22000students.Thisspringwex19llhavemuchmoretomeasuregratefulparentsjobsFlledanddestiniesplanned.Astaxpayersandconcernedcitizenswecanallbeveryproudofourstudentswhoareworkinghardtopreparethemselvestobeproductivemembersofsociety.x1cItx19stimenowtosingoutthox19thestoryneverendsletx19scelebraterememberayearinthelifeoffriends.x1dSincerelyAlanL.StormPh.D.SuperintendentCEOTheCalling20102
