Course: CTE Camp Instructor: Curt Bertelsen For: Provisionally Certified CTE ADE Credit Available: Yes 1 Semester Hour (SH) Credit Requirement: 1 day + homework Course Description: This Premier Series Course is “triage” for new teachers hired just before school begins. It is a fifteen hour "crash course" including the most critical skills and knowledge needed by new teachers prior to their first day of teaching. The 15 hours includes 8 hours of class time and 7 hours’ worth of very practical homework. This professional development activity covers the following: An overview of CTE, teaching methods, classroom management, and items crucial to a successful first month. CTE Camp is recommended for CTE teachers that were hired too late for them to attend Methods of Teaching CTE (Instructional Best Practices, Classroom Management and Elements of a CTE Program) which is offered July 10-14, 2017. If you attend CTE Camp, plan on attending our fall Methods of Teaching CTE Course on August 22 and 23, September 6 and 7, and October 3, 2017. This is an Arizona Department of Education (ADE) approved Professional Development Event. Upon completion of this course and any homework assigned you will earn the equivalent of one college credit.
