Class Pet
Pima JTED’s Veterinary Assisting Program offers high school students a combination of theory, hands-on learning, and the opportunity to work with licensed veterinarians during our two-year program to become Approved Veterinary Assistants through NAVTA (National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America). Our students work under the direction of Veterinary Care professionals and operate the ClassPet Pima JTED Veterinary Clinic, which offers the services listed below for pets during the school year.
In order to create a positive and enjoyable experience for your pet, our dedicated staff, and students in the Veterinary Assistant Program, we are unable to offer veterinary or grooming services for pets with a history of aggression toward people, including biting or nipping. We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

Grooming Service Fee:
- A minimum service fee of $25.00 per pet (gratuity welcomed for future grooming supply purchases)
Extra grooming services available for an additional fee:
- Sanitary Trim $12.00 (Hair trimming around genitals and anus region)
- Hair Clipping $15.00 (Tail hair, long feather leg hairs, small mats between toes, ears, etc.)
Note: We are not professional groomers and will do our best to leave the coat as neat as possible following grooming. Please note that we do not perform full coat shave-downs for cosmetic purposes; shave-down services are only performed when medically indicated and deemed necessary for the health and well-being of the pet. For severely matted coats, designated appointment slots are available on scheduled surgical days from December through May. Please contact the clinic for additional details and to schedule an appointment.
To schedule an appointment:
- Pets must have a current rabies vaccine on file with Class Pet Pima JTED Veterinary Clinic prior to the time of the appointment.
- Each appointment is scheduled for a 90-minute time slot:
- 8:30 – 10 a.m.
- 10 – 11:30 a.m.
- 12 – 1:30 p.m.
- 1:30 – 3 p.m.

Canine & Feline Spay and Neuter Clinic
Neuter & Spay Package Services include:

- CBC, Chem, & electrolytes (in-house)
- IV catheter

- Perioperative intravenous fluids
- Anesthesia (induction agent & gas anesthesia)

Canine Neuter/Spay Fees:
- 0 to 20 pounds – $175
- 21 to 60 pounds – $195
- 61 to 80 pounds – $225
- 81 pounds & Up – $285
Feline Neuter/Spay Fees:
- Male neuter – $100
- Female spay – $120

Medically Indicated Coat Shave-Down:
Fee Range: $60-$150
Medically Indicated Coat Shave-Down services are available only from December through May and are intended for severely matted coats requiring a uniform, one-length clip. Pricing and time required vary based on the severity of matting and the size of your pet.
A veterinarian must be on-site for all shave-down appointments during this period due to the increased risk of pain, stress, and medical complications associated with severe matting. Sedation may be required to safely and humanely complete the procedure. Bloodwork may be required prior to sedation to ensure your pet is healthy and a safe candidate for sedation.
Pets will not be placed under general anesthesia for this service. If general anesthesia is determined to be medically necessary, the cost of the procedure will exceed the standard $150 maximum and will be discussed prior to proceeding.
During the shave-down, the veterinarian will also evaluate the pet’s skin. If concerns are identified, such as irritation, infection, wounds, or other underlying skin conditions, appropriate medical treatment or follow-up care may be recommended.
Severe matting can be associated with conditions such as dermatitis, hot spots, bacterial or fungal infections, and pressure-related skin damage.
Please note: We are not professional groomers. Our priority is the safe removal of matting and the health and comfort of your pet.

If an appointment is not available when you call or email, we maintain a cancellation list. We can add you to this list and notify you promptly if an earlier appointment becomes available.

Making an Appointment
Our goal is to provide quality veterinary care and grooming services to all our patients and their owners in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers and student workers but also other clients waiting for appointment availability for their pets. Please review our policy regarding missed appointments.
Appointment Fee Policy:
When scheduling an appointment for your pet, a non-refundable fee is required to secure your pet’s appointment time. This fee will be applied toward services provided at the time of your pet’s appointment. To be respectful to our providers and other clients, please contact Class Pet as soon as you know you cannot attend your scheduled appointment.

Missed Appointment Policy:
If cancellation is necessary, we require at least 48 hours’ notice. Appointments are in high demand, and your advance notice allows another client the opportunity to schedule care for their pet. While the appointment fee is non-refundable, in cases of unavoidable emergencies or circumstances beyond your reasonable control, all or part of the fee may be applied toward future services.

Your pet’s appointments and well-being are very important to us. We understand that unexpected delays can occur, requiring schedule adjustments. If you need to cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 48 hours’ notice.
