- Explore a wide range of healthcare careers, the roles and responsibilities of a healthcare team, and the importance and function of community healthcare
- Develop the professional skills and terminology required by healthcare experts through practical lab experiences including taking and charting patient vital signs, learning body mechanics, sterilization and disease prevention
- Examine how ethics, morals, cultural and personal values are upheld in medical professions
- Complete this prerequisite to enter Medical Assisting, Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant and Emergency Medical Technician programs

Eligibility: Grade 11
No high school diploma or GED before program completion
JTED @ Camino Seco: Mon-Fri 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. or Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs 2:15 – 4:45 p.m. or 5 – 7:30 p.m.
JTED @ Master Pieces: Mon-Fri 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. or Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs 2:15 – 4:45 p.m. or 5 – 7:30 p.m.
JTED @ Empire: Mon-Fri Period 5 or 6
JTED Online + Camino Seco or Master Pieces two Saturdays/month 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Location TBD)
Certification: CPR/First Aid
Fees: None. Required uniforms and additional supplies are the student’s responsibility.
