The Medical Laboratory Technician program prepares high school students for rewarding careers in healthcare through hands-on training in essential laboratory skills. Students will learn lab safety, aseptic techniques, body systems, medical terminology, phlebotomy, specimen collection, data management, ethics, and patient communication. Through interactive lessons, students gain practical experience, equipping them for further education or entry-level certifications in healthcare, with the potential to contribute to patient care and diagnostics.

- Successful completion of Year 1
Other Requirements
- Be able to pass a mandatory, random, unannounced drug and alcohol screening test as well as fingerprint clearance
- For clinicals,provide Social Security Number, a current American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR certification card, proof of current immunizations including Hepatitis B, MMR, Polio, influenza, and a current negative TB Clearance obtained within the last 3 months
- You must successfully complete Clinicals to be eligible for certification

- Skilled in using tools, equipment, and machinery with precision and physical control
- Able to collaborate well with peers and follow instructor guidance
- Capable of adhering to industry standards with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong technical reading and study skills; course materials are at a college-level reading complexity
