Learn how to understand, diagnose and repair today’s complex automobiles through direct instruction and the CDX online automotive training system. Do engine performance diagnosis and repair, evaluate and fix brakes, maintain and repair cooling, steering, suspension, electrical, and electronic systems.

Other Requirements
- Students are required to attend an Information Session in the Spring semester (prior to Onboarding)
- JTED will communicate with students and parents the days and times of the two sessions
- Parents/Guardians complete JTED enrollment
- Students complete PCC Onboarding requirements
- Apply to PCC
- Attend JTED & PCC New Student Orientation
- Upload Verification of Lawful Presence via MyPima
- Attend mandatory study sessions by invitation and mid-semester check-in’s with JTED School Counselor
Things to Consider
- In this program high school students complete the Automotive Mechanic certificate college program at Pima Community College.
- Students provide their own transportation to the downtown campus – Automotive Center of Excellence.
- Students learning is independent and completed in a self-paced format
- In this program you are a high school student and a college student. Your grade is reflected on both your high school transcript and Pima Community College transcript.
- Your grades for this course will impact your college GPA as well as your high school GPA.
- Student earns college credit while in the program.
- If you are a high school graduate or have earned a GED, you are not eligible to attend this program through Pima JTED. Please apply directly with PCC.

Schedule Availability
- Students will complete two Automotive college classes a semester. This requires two nights a week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
