This program explores the basic skills used in metalworking, manufacturing and industrial production. Students will learn basic safety techniques, sheet metal work, oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting, multiple welding processes, welding terminology, metal and tool identification, and much more.
If you choose to take this course through JTED @ Pima Community College you will learn the shielded metal arc welding skills and processes used in construction or other field welding applications. Prepare for positions in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW).
